The Slash will do fine now and be a perfect starter. Then, later on down the road, upgrade to a truck such as the Tekno or Losi. I would stick with your Slash for now and learn the basics and get a grasp on it. Now, on a club racing level, I'm not sure whether many tracks will rule this.
